Our Story

Our belief is that small change can make a big difference.

In 2012, Hali turned eleven years old. Since then, she and her dad Greg have embarked on an annual father-daughter adventure that has grown into something truly special. They wanted to share an experience together while making a meaningful impact in the communities they visited. Inspired by the belief that even the smallest acts can create lasting change, each year they selected a new city, partnered with a local charity, and busked together to raise funds and awareness.

They affectionately named their annual adventures "Playing for Change" and "Tidbits of Change." More than anything, however, the tradition became about a father and daughter sharing meaningful experiences, creating lifelong memories and strengthening their bond.

As the years passed, Hali and Greg began hearing from people who had been inspired to create meaningful adventures of their own. They started to wonder whether those individual stories could grow into something bigger—a movement encouraging young people and their parents or mentors to share memorable experiences while making a positive difference in their communities.

That idea became the seed from which the Tidbits of Change Foundation was born.

The Cycle of Life

Greg also shared a remarkable one-on-one adventure with his son. When he turned ten years old, father and son set out on an extraordinary cross-Canada cycling journey. They ceremoniously dipped their bicycle tires into the Pacific Ocean and pedalled east as far as a young boy's legs—and a small bicycle—could carry them.

The following summer they returned to the exact spot where they had finished and continued eastward. They repeated this tradition each year for fifteen summers, determined to one day reach the Atlantic Ocean and complete their coast-to-coast journey.

Their unforgettable adventure became the book The Cycle of Life, with a portion of proceeds supporting the Tidbits of Change Foundation and its mission to inspire young Canadians.

The book is available to purchase online.
